First Furry Scurry

Charlie went to his very first Furry Scurry to raise money for the Dumb Friend's League of Denver.

He had a blast!

We had to eventually put limits on how many dogs the girls could ask to pet. There were thousands!

Here is our team raising money for The James Wernke Foundation. James was Sheri and Bob's son who passed away at the age of 20. He loved dogs!

Not sure where Anna was but we did bring her home!

Friday Night Bowling!

While we were on our screen fast we couldn't do our usual Friday night movie at home. It's a custom for us to watch a movie downstairs on the big TV while we eat dinner on Friday nights.

So we decided to go bowling!

Anna was hilarious. She just dropped the ball and it would SLOWLY go down the lane.

Eventually we got her to set it down gently!

You can tell what Mia is thinking and feeling just by looking at the back of her.

It was a lot of fun and we will probably try to do it again!

Clean Up The Park Coop

We met for lunch at a park where trash seems to collect when it rains.

The trash ends up caught in all the bushes surrounding this creek.

The ranger gave a talk first.  We learned it takes 100 years for a cigarette butt to decompose, one million for a glass bottle.

We got fitted for gloves and headed out.

We filled eight bags with trash, mostly plastic bottles, and some even saw a snake.

I'm really proud of how hard the girls worked on this service project!

Little Oli Turns One

Little Oli's birthday was May 3. It was exactly one week before his surgery. Becky decided it would be tempting fate to have a lot of little people over when Oli needed to be healthy for surgery. So we celebrated quietly at our house and he will have his big party later.

His eyes always tell the story!

Second Texas Wedding!

The last weekend of April we went back to Texas for another wedding, sans kids.  This time my friend Marti's daughter, Megan, got hitched.

There was a cocktail party for out of towners on Friday night. It was so wonderful to see all of Marti's family that I haven't seen in over 35 years!

It's hard to believe the four of us have been friends for more than 40 years.

The next morning Dan and I drove down to League City to see Tim. He had open heart surgery just a few days before. He seemed to be in good spirits and he was out of ICU. Karen was glad to have someone to talk to in the room with her.

After the visit, we met up with Katryn, Karen and Joe for some lunch. We always have a great time together!



The wedding was in a beautiful chapel with a huge glass wall looking out onto the forest. I accidentally deleted the photo of the large glass wall!

With the sun behind them, I didn't get a very good picture of Mike and Megan getting ready to come down the isle, but trust me, she was a beautiful bride!





The reception was very classy and we had an amazing time!

Homeschool Hike

We went on a wonderful hike with our homeschool group in April.

It was brilliant of the leader to make it a scavenger hunt.

We climbed rocks.

And we posed for pictures.

Most of the kids loved it. There seems to be a demarcation line of about six years old where kids can go for a two mile hike without whining. Anna is 5 2/3. You get the picture.

We are all planning to hike together every Tuesday this summer!

Annual Baseball Game

Darn. I am already so far behind in blogging from the screen fast that I didn't need my computer to die. But it did. And so this is being typed on a brand new spanking one. And I am now MORE than a month behind on the blog.

We went to our annual Rockies vs. Dodgers game early in the season year. Why annual? Once a year is enough with a 5 and 7 year old who don't really care about baseball, go to bed early, and love junk food.

I think the highlight this year was letting them not sit with "the parents" on the tram.

Or maybe the tie-dyed food.

My favorite part was this...another beautiful Colorado sunset.

Dan's favorite part was the game and that's why we go every stinkin' year. Go Dodgers!
