It's A Girl!

It's a girl! Joey and Brittany had a 3D ultrasound today and found out they are having a girl, little Avery Nicole. Mia, Anna and Avery are going to have some great times together!

Breakfast With Santa

This morning we had breakfast with Santa! Well, he visited us before breakfast and then Mia went to sit on his lap after breakfast. Yes, she did it!

Candy Cane Festival

Today we went to the Hammond's Candy Cane Festival. Hammond's is a candy cane manufacturer that's been around since the 1920's. When we saw the line for the factory tour we decided that could wait for another day since they have tours every day.

It was already 34 degrees when we got there around 10:00. Trust me, that's warm for a December morning and the sun was really nice and strong. We rode the hayride first which actually went out onto the Denver streets. Unfortunately, pics did not turn out.

Next, Mia went in the bounce house. Again, it was too shady in there and pics didn't come out! We do have one of her in line waiting to go down the slide which was right next to the speaker blasting out Christmas music.

I love it when these two guys carry me everywhere!
Mia also played a bean bag game and won a little elephant. And then we went in the craft tent where she made a sugar necklace. I can tell the craft tent is going to be the place to be as she gets older! We skipped Santa as we are going to have breakfast with him tomorrow. How did we pull that off with his busy schedule this time of year???

These Rice Krispie treats could feed a family of four.

We topped off the morning with lunch at Red Robin and a nap!

One thing I do notice is that this would have cost a small fortune in California, yet in Colorado almost everything was free.

I don't know what it is about a health insurance card with her name on it that means she's ours!

NO more footy pajamas. When they have to go to the potty in the middle of the night and they insist on zipping and unzipping themselves, it's time to move on to grownup jammies. And she loves them!

Mia's Own Christmas Show

Sometimes Mia beats to her own drum. She had the entire audience laughing. I'm bummed the sound on the video is so bad. It was hysterical!

Now let me see (which she did say out loud), I think I'll sing that first song again instead of this Pokey Pokey Reindeer song everyone else is singing. That star song was way better.

Hmmm...now I'm going to listen to the song, but I'm gonna sing the words when I think it's the best time. Not when all those other kids are singing.

Gingerbread House

Today was a snowy day in Colorado. Because Dan was out of town I didn't feel safe driving around so we stayed home. We played, watched a movie and made a gingerbread house. I have figured out how to make them with two year olds over the years.

Step 1: Frost and decorate the walls of the house before you put it together because two years olds don't understand the meaning of put the candy on "gently".

Step 2: Eat one of the walls!

Step 3: Assemble!
