Busy October Weekend

Our busy weekend started with a trip to Disneyland, California Adventures and Club 33 on Thursday. Adults only! All Dan's siblings and their spouses! Here is the new beautiful lobby for Club 33. We stayed from morning till night.

Thanks to these guys and family connections for getting us in to Club 33!

I love this picture of the ferris wheel even though I would never dare ride it!

On Friday we attended the girls' school carnival right after school Their favorite part was getting their hair dyed!

After that we dropped Mia off at a Kids Night Out Halloween party and the rest of us went to Matt and Natalie's rehearsal dinner at Katryn's house.

On Saturday we left the girls for 24 hours with Jillian and headed down to the wedding in Capistrano. It was a blast!

Mike and Marti made it from Texas.

Horrible picture of me but it was nice to finally meet Katryn's friend Joyce and see Christy again.

The mother-son dance was to Child of Mine by Carol King - not a dry eye in the house.

It was busy weekend but so much fun!

My Birthday 2018

My 57th birthday was Sunday. I requested that we all go out to a vegan restaurant for lunch.  The one I picked also had a full raw vegan menu which, of course, is why I picked it. I forgot to take a single picture!

Afterwards we went to the park.  Grandpa Dan bought everyone ice cream sandwiches from the ice cream truck. I wasn't too happy - we just ate lunch!

The girls went off exploring on their own.

They discovered this mini gym playspace. That's when I remembered to take pictures! After a bit we noticed that it said no one under 14 may use the machines.  Oops.

A Little Normal

We didn't think we would still be in a hotel at this point, but we are, so we might as well enjoy it. We decided to have our regular Sunday dinner with Becky and family. It's been four months since they left Colorado and we've had Sunday dinner! We barbecued outside by the pool and the kids swam.

We had the pool to ourselves most of the time. A man came and used the jacuzzi after a bit and Oli shouted, "Grandpa, someone is in your pool!".

We have a very nice patio and two barbecues. Come on over!

El Dorado Park Saturdays

I am all caught up on blogging! What I find is that if I get too far behind, taking pictures is not longer a priority for me and I don't even think about taking them. So..today it was on my mind!

Lately we have been going to the dog park and archery on Saturday mornings. They are both at El Dorado park in Long Beach. Charlie has not been feeling well for a long time and he does not always enjoy the dog park. But Mia...it's one of her favorite places.  She plays with everyone else's dogs!

Anna was excited to turn eight so she could take the safety archery class. Dan took it with her. Mia and I took it a few months ago. The instructors are amazing, they fit you for all the right size equipment and give you one on one instructions and help. They are all volunteers. Amazing program! And now that we all passed the safety class we can all go to the same beginners class every Saturday morning, until someone scores enough to move on to the advanced class. Hint, it won't be me.

Mia and I picked up lunch for the hungry archers.

Today was the day! El Dorado Park also has these pedal cars. The girls have been asking over and over to rent one. We tried on Labor Day weekend but parking was terrible and the one we wanted had a thirty minute wait. Since we told them we would try again on an uncrowded weekend and there was no one at the park today we had to say yes!

It was actually pretty fun and the girls gave us pedalers lots of breaks so they could play along the way.  Mia did a great job pedaling when it was her turn but Anna could barely reach the pedals.

When we got home Dan took the girls to see Small Foot. Boy will they sleep well tonight. I am here in the hotel alone, enjoying every minute of it.

Anna's Birthday

And the month of birthdays is winding down...

Anna celebrated her eight birthday at the park. She wanted a puppy party. So we had a puppy piñata and a dog themed bounce house.

Here is her new friend QiQi, also adopted from China.

Mia and QiQi's older sister organized the activities.

There was a lot of table standing!

That evening John and Carolyn took us on a boat ride around Naples Island!

Anna wanted a new mermaid tail from Mom and Dad. We surprised her with a bikini she has been asking for for a long time too!

The next day was her actual birthday and she requested In n Out for dinner. We went out with Becky and family but I didn't get any pictures. Happy Birthday sweet Anna!

Soccer and Baseball

A few Saturdays ago we got to see Maks play soccer!

This is his first year so it's been a steep learning curve being on a team with boys that have played several years. But he always does his best!

Who is that lady with the wrinkly neck????

Later that day we met Joey and Family for a Dodger game.

Manny Machado bobble head night!  We also took Benji to the gift shop and got him a birthday present.

It's always a good day when we get to see four of our six grandkids!
