August 2026

August was definitely a lot more mellow than July!
We took the girls and a few friends to see Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages Theatre.
To get to the theater from where we parked we had to walk down Vine Street.
It was a first for the girls to see the stars.

And then we got to the famous corner of Hollywood and Vine to see the show.

I have been to this theater several times but it's always impressive!

Everyone loved the show - one of those you can see over and over and never get sick of.

Dan and I went to the funeral of a friend's husband. Dan worked with his wife for many years.
We didn't know him super well but he always seemed like a great guy.

Summer Thursday! The boys are done with Junior Lifeguards so we all went to Skyzone.
Oli is always so good with Kinga.

I got a rather blurry picture of Maks and Mia battling it out in the jousting pit.
Anna was still in Big Bear at camp.

We went to dinner with Pati & Mark Wilkins at the Neifert's house, whom we hadn't seen in twenty years.
It was such a good time but the only picture we got was of the sunset.😞

For Kelly's 50th (for which there was a party last month and I forgot to take any pictures) we took him to Alta Adams in L.A. for some upscale soul food.

Kelly, Dan and I had watched the show America's Culinary Cup together and fell in love with this particular chef, Keith Corbin, so were just waiting for the right opportunity to try his food.

It was fantastic and he even posed for a photo.

It's the first day of school and Dan and Anna are off for Hello Kitty night at Dodger Stadium!

Cross Country season always begins with a race where the team is divided into two teams who race against each other.  It's called Beast Games and Anna's team won!
Afterward, everyone eats breakfast together.

My bridge friend, Chris, and her friend, Patty, and I went to see Chris's son perform at the Hollywood Paladium. I had never been there before.
His band is called Twisted Teens and just was invited to play at Coachella!

I didn't want Kinga to get paint on her shirt so I took it off.
I didn't realize she would just paint herself when I wasn't watching. 😂

Senior Sunrise! The seniors all meet at the beach for the sunrise at the beginning of the year and then for the sunset at the end of the year. Amazing tradition!

After a Mexican dinner with friends, we decided to go to a bar nearby that just opened called, Mugshots.
They had mugshots all over the walls.
Great idea for a theme and I was amazed at how many famous people
have been arrested at one time or another.
We probably won't be back as they all wanted to do shots and the bar only served beer and wine.
I was perfectly fine with that!

August was a fun month!
