A Slow Exit

We made a slow exit from Colorado to California. We picked up the girls from their last day at Rosie's Ranch on July 26th and headed out. ULA had given Dan a gift certificate for The Broadmoor for his retirement so we headed there first.  The girls have been there before but they seem to be old enough now to appreciate what a nice place it is. They took over 200 pictures of items around the hotel that they liked.  Here is just a sampling.

We were there for two nights. We swam, bowled and had some amazing meals.

After that we headed up Lafayette for Nicole's wedding.  We stopped by the Dragon Boat Festival in Denver on the way. It was a let down - just your usual carnival foods, etc. I had hoped there would be lots of different types of Chinese food. The races were so far out in the water they were not very exciting. Participating in the racing would probably be fun.

The girls did get to ride in these gyro balls.

We then headed up to Lafayette and spent two nights there. The girls kept complaining that the Hampton Inn didn't look like The Broadmoor.  Hehe

The wedding was at a beautiful farm. Emma was one of the bridesmaids.

Avalon was also a bridesmaid.

Emma's two oldest children were the ring bearer and flower girl.

Bill walked Nicole down the aisle. Nicole had a beaming smile on her face through the whole ceremony and reception. Never have I seen a happier bride.

The day after the wedding we headed out for California. We spent one night in a hotel on the way and then one night at Dar's house.  We officially moved into our California hotel on August 1st!
