Yellowstone 2021

Dan and I went to Yellowstone awhile ago and we couldn't wait to take the girls to this magical place.

Heading out.

iPads make plane travel so easy!

Our hotel was in West Yellowstone. It was crowded and hotels were very expensive.
But it was so great to see things getting back to normal!

Our first stop was Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.

The wolves are only a few feet from the glass because we were there at feeding time.

My girls love horseback riding so we had to fit it in some time. They are much more experienced than me!

Even Dan went. He used to be a bit afraid of horses until he did a leadership week at a dude ranch.

One of Anna's favorite ways to sit.

When you see Mexican food in a bus you have to try it. It did not disappoint.

Since they told us our tickets would work for the next day at the discovery center as well, the girls wanted to head back there.

We watched an Imax movie on the geology of Yellowstone.

These girls love their rope courses!

We spent a full day in the national park, one of the most amazing places on Earth! We found a cafe that made boxed lunches you could order the night before and pick up in the morning to take on your drive. This worked out really well as places in the park were still limited due to Covid.
Thank you to whoever blogged about this.

The beautiful colors of the thermals are my second favorite thing about Yellowstone.
My favorite in the wild life.

A must see!

Selfies while waiting for it to blow!

And there it goes! This is my only still pic of it which was taken very early.
The videos have the whole explosion which went much higher than this.

More thermal vents

Can you see the buffalo in front of us on the road?

Looks like a painting, right?

We inserted ourselves into the picture to show it's real.

This vent had a horrible sulfur smell.

We missed the rodeo the night before due to rain so we went this night even though we were tired from being in the park all day.

Both girls tried the mutton bustin'. (Trying to catch a running lamb.)

For our last activity we drove up to Montana for a tube ride on the Madison river.

Since Mia rarely smiles for pictures this one is special.

Best National Park!
