A Little Bit of July

Knowing we were moving we decided to hit the Renaissance Festival. The girls and I went on an elephant. Many many years ago Dan and Beth went on one so it was now my turn.

It was pretty wobbly!

The girls did jousting on a wooden horse.  They had to put the spear through a ring.

These damsels put on a pretty good show. Apparently it becomes x-rated in the evening.

We made it to the Fourth of July bike parade this year. Some years we are just too lazy to get there.

Mia wanted to ride my bike. She handled it pretty well.

Stel and Michelle came over for a barbecue. We will sure miss them!

I got this picture of the first time seeing a double rainbow.

The girls love going to Pirate's Cove and jumping off the diving board over and over.

Parker Days 2018

We will miss going to Parker Days! We have been splitting up the last few years. Dan and Mia head for the fast scary rides while Anna and I find less thrilling things to do. Although this time when Mia found out what Anna did she thought it sounded fun!

Anna got to feed animals at the petting zoo.

She did rock climbing over and over - you pay one price for an hour of activities.

She also went in the gyro balls but I only have video of that! I don't have anything of Mia as she was busy with Dan.

Anna's First Communion!

The same weekend as the wedding shower we celebrated Anna's First Communion! Here is the 9:30 AM morning group.

Anna with her Godparents...

and her parents...

and with Sheri and Bob. Sheri and Bob are Mia's Godparents but we never got a picture of her with them last year!

Since Denise came out for the shower, she stayed for the First Communion. Thanks Aunt Niese!

Presents are always fun!

It was a lovely day.

Nicole's Shower

It's not often that I get to go to one of my nieces' showers.  They are almost all in California. But since Nicole lives in Colorado I got to go this time! Denise and Avalon came out and spent the night with me. Along with Becky, the four of us went to Michelle's house for the afternoon.

Pin the mustache on Jason. I have to admit, mine is the one on the door jamb!

Dress up as a bride with toilet paper. This was ours. We didn't win. :(

The bride's bouquet!

We had a lot of fun!

May 2018

I haven't been taking many pictures lately so I'm just doing one post for the whole month of May.

We had fun at the girls' end-of-the-year school carnival.

Anna had an injured heel and had to use a scooter to get around.

This girl loves her selfies...

and her hair chalk.

We went to brunch at the club for Mother's Day.

Anna had to wear this patch for two months. She wore it two hours a day to strengthen her right eye. She hated it but it worked!

We were in California for Avery's birthday so we had a nice time at Bridget's pool

The theme was tropical!

Happy Birthday Avery!

Grossie

In April we lost my beautiful mother-in-law, Clara Veronika Gall. She was a generous, loving, gentle, quiet woman. She always greeted you with a smile.

The funeral was in May. It was a lovely family gathering which I'm sure she would have loved. There were three days of togetherness celebrating her.

Here are some things that were on the table at the funeral Mass.

Clara, also known to her family as Grossie, was the 14th of 16 children. I believe she is the one on the left of her mother.

This next picture is from our family reunion in 2016.

Her wedding day in 1949.

Some other things that were important in her life.

She will be missed but is looking down on us.  I'm sure of it.

More Happenings in April

In April I went on a sister trip to Temecula. We celebrated Dawn's 50th birthday!

Wine tasting was a blast!

Afterward we hung around our rented house.  Dawn opened her gag garden gift, we went in the jacuzzi and had the usual dance party!

In April we also go the first plans for the California house reno. It changed after this but the ball was now rolling.

Mia and Anna were in the talent show together.  Anna did a tae kwon do demonstration and Mia played a thug.  Anna used her self defense moves on Mia.

Colorado wind is great for kite flying!

Cooperation!

It's always nice when the sun comes out after winter and we spend more time outside.
