On August 6th the eggs started to hatch! Mia had to help several of them get out of their shells.
They're tiny!
We went with Sheri and Bob to see The Beach Boys and John Stamos.
It was a very nostalgic show with videos in the background of the last 60 years.
Dan and I went to our annual Dodger game. The girls didn't want to go this time.
They played the Padres and won 6-0!
Ten days later the chicks have really grown!
Anna was kidnapped!
Older girls from the cross country team got her out of bed at 5:30 AM and took her to the beach.
They had four hours of activities there for all the freshman.
She had a blast and then came home and slept most of the day.
We hosted the pasta party before the first cross country meet.
Sixty five kids showed up!
I love the camaraderie on this team!
Anna finished her first official race with a time of 21:57 and no right shoe!
She got a medal for being one of the top 75. There were around 350 girls in the race.
We celebrated Becky's birthday on the last weekend of the month.
Becky wanted brownies but Kinga insisted we call it cake.🤣
This Northern Mockingbird stood on that fence with a dragonfly in its mouth,
watching me as I watched him.
It must have been there for ten minutes.
As soon as I walked away it swooped down below a bush and dropped the insect.
Apparently they are like squirrels and store their food for later.
Obviously he didn't want me to see where his stash was and steal the delicious bug.
