El Dorado Park Saturdays

I am all caught up on blogging! What I find is that if I get too far behind, taking pictures is not longer a priority for me and I don't even think about taking them. So..today it was on my mind!

Lately we have been going to the dog park and archery on Saturday mornings. They are both at El Dorado park in Long Beach. Charlie has not been feeling well for a long time and he does not always enjoy the dog park. But Mia...it's one of her favorite places.  She plays with everyone else's dogs!

Anna was excited to turn eight so she could take the safety archery class. Dan took it with her. Mia and I took it a few months ago. The instructors are amazing, they fit you for all the right size equipment and give you one on one instructions and help. They are all volunteers. Amazing program! And now that we all passed the safety class we can all go to the same beginners class every Saturday morning, until someone scores enough to move on to the advanced class. Hint, it won't be me.

Mia and I picked up lunch for the hungry archers.

Today was the day! El Dorado Park also has these pedal cars. The girls have been asking over and over to rent one. We tried on Labor Day weekend but parking was terrible and the one we wanted had a thirty minute wait. Since we told them we would try again on an uncrowded weekend and there was no one at the park today we had to say yes!

It was actually pretty fun and the girls gave us pedalers lots of breaks so they could play along the way.  Mia did a great job pedaling when it was her turn but Anna could barely reach the pedals.

When we got home Dan took the girls to see Small Foot. Boy will they sleep well tonight. I am here in the hotel alone, enjoying every minute of it.
